Articulate Theatre Company is proud to be able to use the talents of our company to bring attention to special causes. We will be holding events, and partnering up with worthy organizations with our shows. We hope you will join us when we bring the power of theatre to advocate for others!
Dragons and Dogs and Cats - Our first production was "Dragon" and we partnered up with Urgent Death Row Pets. Here's some more information about them.
Articulate Theatre Company is extremely proud to be partnering with Urgent Death Row Pets to inspire change in the NYC animal shelter system. At ATC, we know that the power of a shared experience can multiply exponentially and affect change in our community. Theatre by its very nature provides a way to encourage tolerance and change in a community, and we intend to take full advantage of that power. DRAGON is ATC’s debut production, and we could think of no better place to start our partnership with the community than with Urgent! We hope that you will attend DRAGON and help us, help Urgent, and most importantly, help the voiceless animals abandoned by the system. We hope you will join us for our production of DRAGON, and in our fight for justice for New York City’s four-legged citizens.
“Urgent” was created to help advocate for NYC’s Death Row Dogs and Cats. What started as a desperate attempt to save some dogs turned into an enormous community of caring people, just as outraged as we are. Together, we are fighting to reform the NYC shelter system and save the thousands of adoptable animals being needlessly destroyed each year. The battle is long and the list of casualties continues to climb but we will not give up… not until there are none.
Urgent’s mission is to raise awareness and to advocate for the homeless animals in the NYC shelter system. Not unlike the players in DRAGON, the shelter animals are often misunderstood, and need a chance at redemption, a chance at love. Like the unexpected union depicted in DRAGON, this innovative partnership joins independent theater with grassroots animal advocacy, and anything can happen! We expect great things.
