FULL LENGTH PRODUCTIONS

Doctor Frankenstein by George Allison - October 2023 Ocean County College

What if Mary Shelley lied - on Purpose? His life’s work laid to waste by Shelley’s vindictive novel, Dr. Victor Frankenstein summons an audience of ghosts to an operating theatre to present his side of the story in a bid to salvage his name and reputation. This new riff on the classic Frankenstein story is not an adaption. It's a new perspective, told by the real Dr. Frankenstein, whose career, life and legacy were destroyed by Mary Shelley's "tall tale." Her story has lived on, been spun into plays, movies, musicals - while his name has been smeared with the label of madness.

Mr. Toole by in association with Lagniappe Productions, March 2020 - 59e59 Theatres

Award-winning playwright Vivian Neuwirth creates a deeply personal reflection on the life of John Kennedy Toole, author of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, A Confederacy of Dunces. Before he was an author, John Kennedy Toole was a teacher. That’s how Lisette, one of his students at an all-girl’s college in New Orleans, knew him and loved him. Through her eyes, amid the music, magic, and mystery of The Big Easy we, too, learn to love “Mr. Toole.” The teacher a student will never forget becomes a legend the world will always remember.

Doctor Frankenstein by George Allison - November 2019 West End Theatre, NYC

This new riff on the classic Frankenstein story is not an adaption. It's a new perspective, told by the real Dr. Frankenstein, whose career, life and legacy were destroyed by Mary Shelley's "tall tale." Her story has lived on, been spun into plays, movies, musicals - while his name has been smeared with the label of madness. Tonight, he plans to set the record straight!

Jeanette by Music and Lyrics by Ari Ayesha Afsar, Book by Lauren M. Gunderson

An epic pop musical based on the true story of America’s first congresswoman, Jeannette electrifies the life and history of suffrage activist, social worker and Montanan, Jeannette Rankin. Elected to Congress in 1916—three years before women are granted the right to vote—Jeannette finds herself to be the only female voice within the halls of power to vote on women’s suffrage. Written by America's most produced playwright Lauren M. Gunderson and pop sensation Ari Ayesha Afsar, Jeannette heralds one person’s radical voice in America’s ongoing journey toward equal rights for all.

Love Letters by A.R. Gurney - June 2018

Real life sweethearts, Keir Dullea (2001: A Space Odyssey) and Mia Dillon (TONY award nominee, Crimes of the Heart) bring A. R. Gurney’s Love Letters to life in this one of a kind performance. As ‘Melissa’ and ‘Andy,’ these two stunning artists bring complexity and humanity to Gurney’s timeless play about love, friendship, loss, challenges and the art of letter writing. Underscoring their love for New York’s theatre scene, Ms. Dillon and Mr. Dullea share this production as a benefit for the award winning Articulate Theatre Company, and we are so honored by their support!

OnAir/OnStage: The Holiday Radio Plays - December 2017

OnAIR/OnStage is Articulate Theatre Company's exploration into the world of radio plays. Imagine stepping into a room where your imagination is instantly engaged by nothing more than microphones, actors, and an "On the Air" sign that takes you from story to story, effortlessly. And let's not forget the oh-so-important SOUND EFFECTS TEAM! Watch this talented group transport you from a snowy mountainside, to the not-so-mean streets of Chelsea, to the inside of a drink glass, to a snowy railroad station - all with some shoes, corn flakes, chimes, and a few other "secret" items.

On This Mountain by Ruth Tyndall Baker - July 2017

On This Mountain is grounded in a true story and a real group of people. Lindy is part of a special group called the Melungeons, and she lived happily with her family on a mountain in Virginia until laws and people's hearts changed. Extraordinary circumstances see Lindy left to hide on the mountain that she loves until her family can come back for her. As time goes by, Lindy must make some decisions on her own - some that will change her life forever.

Listen! The River by Robin Rice - 2017

This play creeps up and tackles you as you follow the journey of Turbo, a Maine Coon Cat who is a serious catalyst for change in the lives of diverse people. A hit at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival as a one-act, one-actor play, this magical story has been developed by Articulate Theatre and grown into a full-length, species-encompassing performance. Listen! The River is a dark comedy that explores the nature of re-re-responsibility, as seen through the eyes of lovers and loved.

Gurney, William Hoffman, Stephanie Gordon, William Mastrosimone, Jeffrey Sweet, Burke Pearson, Richard Frankel and many, many more.

Sonnet 100 Video Project - The New York Shakespeare Exchange are the producers of, and masterminds behind, The Sonnet Project. They commissioned short films to be made from each of William Shakespeare's sonnets. Articulate learned about the project and asked to be involved. We're huge fans of the Bard and the wonderful folks at NYSX, so it seemed like a fun idea. We asked to do Sonnet 100, and they gave us the Brooklyn Public Library as our New York City location.
