Sonnet Video - The Making Of...

The New York Shakespeare Exchange are the producers of, and masterminds behind, The Sonnet Project.  They have commissioned short films to be made from each of William Shakespeare's sonnets. Here's a little explanation about the project: The Sonnet Project is a massive multi-artist, internet-based interpretation of Shakespeare's sonnets. Each film will be shot on location at a unique NYC place. From the iconic to the ephemeral, the locations will put the poetry of NYC into direct contact with the poetry of The Bard. You can read more about how the project was created, what the purpose is, and how it has evolved into something extraordinary by visiting their website. You can also check out their app which brings each new video straight to you!

Articulate learned about the project and asked to be involved. We're huge fans of the Bard and the wonderful folks at NYSX, so it seemed like a fun idea. We asked to do Sonnet 100, and they gave us the Brooklyn Public Library as our New York City location. We had a great time putting it together! It's also a great way of testing out the waters of video as a story-telling resource for us in the future. The project was so successful that we're already planning on producing our own short in the near future. We're very proud of our Sonnet video, but you can judge it for yourself by visiting the website by clicking on the button below.
